Biological surveys are at the heart of much of Princeton Hydro’s work and provide the critical data required for sound resource management consultation. We provide surveys in a variety of capacities, from simple inventories to characterize biological assemblages, to multi-year efforts assessing resource recovery after mitigation in order to direct continuing adaptive management.
Our expertise and equipment allows our survey services to span a wide range of taxa, functional groups, and guilds. For aquatic ecosystems we provide full service fishery surveys including the use of electrofishing and net gear, maintain a biological laboratory for the analysis of plankton and macroinvertebrates, conduct aquatic macrophyte (weed) surveys and control, and survey mussel populations. In the wetland and upland realms, our services extend to the assessment and monitoring of plant communities, herptiles (reptiles and amphibians), and birds.
