Princeton Hydro welcomes individuals with expertise in natural resource management who are capable of creative problem-solving within a collaborative atmosphere. We are always looking for opportunities to team-up with people who vary in experience from recent college graduates to established professionals.  

Our staffing interests include civil engineers (with a water resource focus), geotechnical engineers, coastal engineers and geologists, terrestrial and aquatic ecologists, geologists/hydrogeologists, limnologists, GIS professionals, planners, invasive species control technicians and professionals, construction inspection personnel, landscape architects, and more! INTERNSHIPS AND CO-OPS

Princeton Hydro is always in search of individuals who have a passion for ecological restoration, natural resources, and/or water resources and geotechnical engineering. Most of all, we love it when we find those “out-of-the-box” thinkers, future leaders, and problem solvers who are interested in helping us reach our mission of improving the human and natural world. Our firm provides hands-on, real-world experience to help you prepare for your full time career, and learn from some very clever and talented environmental and engineering professionals. And, of course, if you decide to later apply for full time employment with us, you will have the advantage of experience with our firm and industry.

Internships offer opportunities to work on actual designs, learn or build upon your CAD skills, complete analysis and mathematical methods, work with experienced professionals, get out into the field to see firsthand how data is collected and projects are built, understand the business of environmental and engineering consulting, and shadow our experts in a number of practice areas in the firm.

We encourage those students in their second through fifth (for five year programs) year at the undergraduate level, or those pursuing higher degrees to send us your resume or curriculum vitae, along with a cover letter of interest. Entry to junior level water resource engineer

Princeton Hydro, LLC is looking for an entry to junior level water resource engineer who is available to work primarily at the Company's  Ringoes, NJ or Annapolis, MD Office.  Qualified applicants must be able to start immediately.

Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration (or extra course work) in water resources.    

The ideal candidate will love to work on surface water projects, including stormwater management, river and stream restoration, dam removals, hydrologic & hydraulic modeling, lake restoration, flood risk management, wetlands creation and mitigation, and coastal resiliency projects.   

Our staff has a love for the outdoors, environmental issues, working on teams, and helping our clients solve their water resource related challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a positive pro-active attitude, the ability to work closely with, be mentored by, and effectively communicate with other technical staff, have a strong desire to develop technical abilities, professionally interact with subcontractors, clients, and contractors, appropriately perform, document, and discuss various types of field activities, apply engineering principles, take pride and have a sense of ownership of their work, and perform travel to various job sites (as needed, primarily during normal business hours). MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Bioenvironmental, or other related BS/BE degree;
  • 0-5 years of applicable progressive work experience;
  • Preference will be for candidates who possess a current Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certificate;
  • Evidence of successful responsibility both in terms of increasing project complexity and project role;
  • Ability to independently solve engineering problems, concerns, or conflicts and take-on a project ownership role; 
  • Basic to moderate experience preparing project design plans, technical specifications, engineer’s estimates, and complete critical-path project schedules;
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills; 
  • Organized; 
  • Possess willingness to learn, be mentored, and develop professionally; 
  • Work both independently and as a key component of our team; 
  • AutoCAD experience preferred;
  • Willingness to perform various field work as needed to collect data, provide construction observation services, and assist in implementation of projects for our field services practice area; 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

Drafting and CADD Professionals

Princeton Hydro, LLC seeks a qualified Drafting and CADD Professionals for our New Jersey office locations.

Candidates should have at least 5 continuous years of technical drafting experience for the preparation of engineering plans and details, working with CADD systems of standardization, and US Army Corps of Engineers and NJDOT CADD standards.  Candidates should, at a minimum, possess an Associate Degree in technical drawing, and have a basic understanding of engineering standards and theory.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Associate degree in technical drafting, engineering technology or similar education
  • 5+ years continuous experience in drafting
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to produce high-quality engineering plans and specifications
  • Expert in AutoCAD and Microstation (expertise in both is a must)
  • Ability to travel for periods of a few days between offices as needed for projects
  • Must enjoy working in team settings as well as independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in team settings and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Have a passion for and devotion to the profession

Senior PROJECT MANAGER - WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING

Princeton Hydro, LLC is looking for immediate hire, an enthusiastic and diversely experienced Water Resources Engineer who is highly-qualified in the design of natural systems and available to work in the Company's Ringoes, NJ office.

The successful candidate will be passionate, energetic and possess high-level experience in the areas of project/program management, engineering design with an emphasis on stream and wetland restoration, regulatory compliance and permitting for restoration projects, fluvial geomorphology, and construction estimating.

This position requires regular interaction with engineers, scientists, ecologists, regulators, contractors and clients, focusing primarily on the analysis, modeling, design, permitting and construction oversight for a variety of water resource projects. MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Licensed to practice professional engineering in NJ or the ability to obtain reciprocity licensing in a reasonable timeframe
  • Ability to manage specific projects/tasks at the direction of Princeton Hydro’s Director of Engineering Services in the practice area of dams, urban streams, wetlands and wastewater
  • Ability to develop proposals and grant applications for existing and potential clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region – business development focus will be primarily on new client leads and some client maintenance
  • Ability to multi-task and work on projects requiring close coordination between offices to ensure successful completion of the various deliverables
  • Ability to work on proposals, concept plans, and general cost estimates for planned future work
  • Ability to oversee engineering project managers and junior engineering staff in the Ringoes office, including QA/QC of work products and day-to-day schedule management/timesheet review
  • Day-to-day schedule management for all projects and tasks assigned
  • 5 to 10 years of design experience in ecosystem restoration with emphasis on identifying, planning, designing and permitting wetland and stream restoration projects
  • Green infrastructure and/or stormwater management design and implementation experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of state, federal and regional regulatory compliance related to aquatic ecosystem restoration throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region is a plus
  • Strong organizational, research and technical writing skills are required
  • Ability to work in team settings as well as independently with minimal supervision and direction
  • A passion for and devotion to the profession
DESIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • AutoCAD, including Civil 3D
  • MicroStation
  • H&H computer models, including HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS
