Princeton Hydro welcomes individuals with expertise in natural resource management and water resource engineering who are capable of creative problem-solving within a collaborative atmosphere. INTERNSHIPS AND CO-OPS

Princeton Hydro is always in search of individuals who have a passion for ecological restoration, natural resources, and/or water resources and geotechnical engineering. Most of all, we love it when we find those “out-of-the-box” thinkers, future leaders, and problem solvers who are interested in helping us reach our mission of improving the human and natural world. Our firm provides hands-on, real-world experience to help you prepare for your full time career, and learn from some very clever and talented environmental and engineering professionals. Internships offer opportunities to work on actual designs, learn or build upon your CAD skills, complete analysis and mathematical methods, work with experienced professionals, get out into the field to see firsthand how data is collected and projects are built, understand the business of environmental and engineering consulting, and shadow our experts in a number of practice areas in the firm. We encourage those students in their second through fifth (for five year programs) year at the undergraduate level, or those pursuing higher degrees to apply.

Princeton Hydro, LLC is seeking an Ecological Restoration, Water Resource, or Fisheries Engineer to be located our New England Office in S. Glastonbury, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have an interest in restoring river systems and possess a positive pro-active attitude. Experience in the following is a plus: hydraulic modeling, hydrologic analysis, fluvial geomorphology, survey, design plan preparation (AutoCAD), and stream restoration / dam removal / fish passage / aquatic habitat design. We are also willing to train the right candidate.

Our staff has a love for the outdoors, environmental issues, working on teams, and helping our clients solve their water resource related challenges. The ideal candidate will, the ability to work closely with, be mentored by, and effectively communicate with other technical staff, have a strong desire to develop technical abilities, professionally interact with subcontractors, clients, and contractors, appropriately perform, document, and discuss various types of field activities, apply engineering principles, take pride and have a sense of ownership of their work, and perform travel to various job sites (as needed, primarily during normal business hours). SENIOR ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER

Princeton Hydro, LLC is looking for immediate hire, an enthusiastic and diversely experienced Water Resources Engineer for our Annapolis, Maryland office who is highly qualified in the design of ecosystem restoration projects, including stream restoration, wetland creation and mitigation, lake and pond restoration, and dam removal. The successful candidate will be passionate, energetic and possess experience in the areas of project/program management, engineering design with an emphasis on stream and wetland restoration, regulatory compliance and permitting for restoration projects, fluvial geomorphology, and construction estimating.

This position requires interaction with engineers, scientists, ecologists, regulators, contractors and clients, focusing primarily on the analysis, modeling, design, permitting and construction oversight for a variety of water resource projects. MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental or Bioenvironmental Engineering from ABET accredited university 
  • Professional Engineering license in MD 
  • MD County level permitting, including grading and soil erosion and sediment control permit applications 
  • Ability to manage specific projects/tasks at the direction of Princeton Hydro’s various Practice Area Leads; these projects and tasks will be closely coordinated between offices to ensure successful completion of the various deliverables 
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively with our strategic business partners in the region to generate new business 
  • Experience with and the ability to work on proposals, concept plans and general cost estimates for planned future work 
  • Capability to oversee junior staff in the Maryland regional office, including QA/QC of work products and day-to-day schedule management/timesheet review 
  • At least 5 full years of design experience in ecosystem restoration with emphasis on identifying, planning, designing and permitting wetland and stream restoration projects 
  • Green infrastructure and/or stormwater management design and implementation experience 
  • Knowledge of state, federal and regional regulatory compliance related to aquatic ecosystem restoration, Forest Conservation, mitigation and/or TMDL/MS4 compliance (Maryland experience preferred) 
  • Strong organizational, research and technical writing skills are required 
  • Ability to work in challenging outdoor settings is mandatory Must be able to work in team settings as well as independently with minimal supervision and direction 
  • Ability to work in team settings and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues 
  • A passion for and devotion to the profession

DRAFTING AND CADD PROFESSIONALS

Princeton Hydro, LLC seeks a qualified Drafting and CADD Professionals for our New Jersey office locations.

Candidates should have at least 5 continuous years of technical drafting experience for the preparation of engineering plans and details, working with CADD systems of standardization, and US Army Corps of Engineers and NJDOT CADD standards.  Candidates should, at a minimum, possess an Associate Degree in technical drawing, and have a basic understanding of engineering standards and theory.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Associate degree in technical drafting, engineering technology or similar education
  • 5+ years continuous experience in drafting
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to produce high-quality engineering plans and specifications

FIELD TECHNICIAN/CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

Princeton Hydro, LLC is seeking an experienced Field Technician/Construction Inspector to primarily work out of our Sicklerville, NJ Office. The preferred applicant will have three (3) to five (5) years of significant, relevant, and progressive construction oversight/field testing experience. However, consideration will also be given to less experienced applicants. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to monitoring of construction activities to assure compliance with project specifications, inspection of construction materials (i.e., reinforcing steel, structural fill, concrete, etc.), performance of in-field materials testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt, erosion and sediment control, as well as preparation of detailed daily field and project summary reports.
Preference will be given to applicants with the following certifications:
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
  • NJDCA Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
  • NJDCA Concrete Placement Special Inspector
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
  • USDOT Hazmat Certification
  • Nuclear Gauge Safety Certification

WATER RESOURCES INTERN  
Are you a problem solver who is passionate about stormwater and green infrastructure, river restoration, hydrologic modeling, wetland design, dam removals and restoration, or other types of water resource infrastructure projects? Consider an internship in Princeton Hydro’s Water Resources Engineering department working with our team of experts to review, design, and implement innovative projects across the Northeast. Candidate must be a team player enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or a Master degree in a related field. Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, water quality modeling, floodplain delineation, stormwater management, NEPA, and regulatory issues is helpful.
