Field Restoration Specialist/Invasive Species Technician

Princeton Hydro, LLC is seeking a full-time immediate hire, an enthusiastic and diversely experienced individual for our Bowie, Maryland office who is qualified in the field inspection of stormwater and ecosystem restoration projects, including stormwater management systems, stream restoration, wetland creation and mitigation. This individual would also be interested in being trained in the treatment of ponds, lakes and wetlands in the application of herbicides and pesticides.

This position requires interaction with engineers, scientists, ecologists, regulators, contractors and clients, focusing primarily on the implementation of ecosystem restoration projects, stormwater management facility construction, and the management of ponds and wetlands systems.  MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  •  Associates Degree in biological, engineering, or construction technologies
  • 5 years or greater experience in the applicable field as described herein
  • Drivers license with no records of violations
  • Understanding of soil erosion and sediment controls for construction sites in accordance with Maryland, Delaware and Virginia standards
  • Experience in the various methods of construction for site earthwork and landscaping
  • Understanding of stream restoration construction techniques, including NRCS stream restoration methods, bioengineering stabilization, large woody debris installation, and other restoration techniques.
  • Ability to manage specific projects/tasks at the direction of Princeton Hydro’s various engineering and science project managers
  • Excellent understanding of engineering plans and specifications
  • Excellent field reporting and documentation skills
  • Understand methods of cost estimating
  • Knowledge of state, federal and regional regulatory compliance related to aquatic ecosystem restoration, Forest Conservation, mitigation and/or TMDL/MS4 compliance (Maryland experience preferred)
  • Ability to work in challenging outdoor settings is mandatory, including areas of water (including ability to swim), wetlands, and active construction sites
  • Have a clear understanding of construction and outdoor site safety protocols and techniques
  • Must be able to work in team settings as well as independently with minimal supervision and direction, and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • A passion for and devotion to the profession 

DESIRED QUALIFICATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Licensed pesticide and herbicide applicator in MD, DE and VA 
  • Experience in construction stakeout and surveying
  • Licensed motor boat operator
  • CPR training/certifications
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certified
