Regulatory Specialist

REGULATORY SPECIALIST

Princeton Hydro, LLC is seeking a full-time Regulatory Specialist for our Natural Resources Department to be located in our Ringoes, New Jersey office for immediate hire.  The ideal candidate will be a resourceful, team player whom is skilled in regulatory compliance for local, county, state, and federal agencies the Mid-Atlantic and New England Regions. Experience with permitting and state and federal environmental regulations are required.  Job responsibilities include:

  • Prepare detailed permit applications for local, state, and federal agencies for natural resource and water resource related projects;
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on site, corporate, and regulatory requirements;
  • Delivering proposals or obtain records from local or state agencies such as the NJ Department of Environmental Protection;
  • Work closely with, be mentored by, and effectively communicate with technical staff;
  • Professionally interact with sub-consultants, clients, and contractors;
  • Generate memos, emails, submission materials, and reports as directed;
  • Represent the firm in client meetings and take detailed minutes on the progress;
  • Any tasks or efforts as directed by the Senior Project Manager.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, Environmental Planning or equivalent degree from an accredited University;
  • Possess willingness to learn, be mentored, and develop professionally;
  • Ability to work well as a part of a team while moving tasks forward independently;
  • Detailed-oriented, organized, and self-motivated;
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and spoken;
  • Experience working with state, federal, and nonprofit clients;
  • Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner; and
  • Proficient in MS Office – including Word, Excel, Power Point and Project (experience with macros and pivot tables is preferred).

desired qualification, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE 
  •  Experience with NEPA environmental assessment (EA) and environmental impact statement (EIS), and

  • Knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Coastal Zone Management Act, MS4 Compliance, Endangered Species Act, etc.; and

  • Experience working with agencies at all levels of government such as USACE, USEPA, NJDEP, NJDOT, FERC, NYSDEC, NYCDES, PDEP, CTDEEP, MDE, etc.
