Jim Hunt, PE

 

Jim is a licensed professional engineer who earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rowan University.  He joined Princeton Hydro in 2017 as a Geotechnical Engineer and provides a wide range of engineering services for the firm including: subsurface explorations, bearing capacity and settlement analyses, slope stability analysis, stability analysis of existing structures, preparation of technical deliverables, and cost estimating.

Prior to Princeton Hydro, Jim worked as a civil/structural engineer for Pepco Holdings, Inc providing civil engineering support for new electrical substations or substation expansions.  Jim managed the civil engineering component of large, multidisciplinary substation projects from inception to completion including: design and retrofit of reinforced concrete foundations; design and retrofit of steel structures; design of SPCC transformer oil containments; and oversight of survey, site planning, geotechnical, and civil/structural consultants.  

When Jim is not in the office, he can be found camping, hiking, kayaking, playing disc golf, or spending time with friends and family.  He is an accomplished long-distance hiker, having completed thru-hikes of both the Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail, in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
