stormwater as a resource

Princeton Hydro's approach to stormwater management is based on treating runoff as a resource, rather than a waste. Doing so enables us to develop attractive, sustainable, environmentally beneficial solutions that avoid the limitations associated with standard "end of the pipe" engineering techniques.

Our experienced staff of engineers, ecologists, and landscape designers implements innovative, cost-effective stormwater treatment and management practices. Many of our designs replicate natural systems, including the ecological functions and services of floodplain, riparian and wetland ecosystems. Additionally, we emphasize the integration of low impact development (LID) and non-structural stormwater management techniques and look for ways to creatively make the most of stormwater by engineering solutions that are in tune with the environment. Our ecologically based, engineered solutions can fulfill such diverse stormwater design and regulatory objectives as:

  • Runoff and Flood Control
  • Recharge and Infiltration
  • Pollutant Load Reduction
  • Water Quality Protection
  • Reduced Site Disturbance
  • Habitat Protection and Conservation
  • Water Efficient Landscaping
  • Erosion and Sediment Control
