Stephen J. Souza, PhD

Steve directs all of the aquatic ecology and water resource projects conducted by Princeton Hydro. His academic training and professional experience encompass three primary areas of expertise: aquatic resource restoration and management, aquatic ecosystem sampling and investigations, and stormwater quality modeling and management.

His comprehensive experience in water resource protection and restoration includes the preparation of management and guidance plans for over 300 lakes, ponds, rivers, estuaries and reservoirs located from Florida to Massachusetts. Steve frequently provides expert testimony and technical guidance on stormwater quality management and the implementation of green infrastructure and LID stormwater techniques and is an instructor with the Rutgers Office of Continuing Education and conducts courses on a variety of water resource related topics. He was honored with the 2012 Peter Homack Award from the American Water Resources Association, New Jersey Section for outstanding contributions in the field of water resources.

When not on the job, he enjoys driving his 1963 Fairlane, relaxing at the beach, working in his garden, and traveling with his wife and children.
