Laura A.S. Wildman, PE

Laura’s expertise and professional passion center on the restoration of rivers through the reestablishment of natural functions and aquatic connectivity; she is considered one of the nation's foremost experts on dam removal and alternative fish passage, regularly lecturing, instructing, and publishing on these topics. She believes in reconnecting rivers and communities, since only through a shared sense of environmental stewardship can restoration efforts be truly sustainable. Laura received her bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from University of Vermont and her master’s of Environmental Management from Yale University, and integrates both engineering and a deep understanding of river science into her work.

Laura is highly experienced in fluvial geomorphology, open channel hydraulics, fisheries habitat/flow analysis, dam modification/repair, advanced hydraulic and sediment transport modeling, grant coordination, and public outreach. Her personal interests mimic her professional and she spends as much time outside as possible fishing, camping, and exploring.
